About 100 young Catholics from across Victoria are expected to converge on Echuca next week.
Sandhurst Diocese Youth Ministry Worker, Jackson Saunders, said the excitement was intensifying ahead of next Friday night’s Stronger Rally.
“There will be youth coming from all over the Sandhurst Diocese,” Jackson said.
“They’re coming from places like Wodonga, Shepparton, Benalla, Yarrawonga and Bendigo, so they are really travelling from places wide and far.
“Some young Catholics from parishes like Deniliquin and Moama, in the Wilcannia-Forbes Diocese, also intend to come along.”
Jackson said that many students from St Joseph’s College Echuca had Friday, March 16, marked in their diaries.
Jackson, along with fellow Youth Ministry Worker, Melissa Mewburn, visited St Joseph’s this week to promote the Rally.
“We spoke at assembly and in classes to tell them all about it,” Jackson said.
“Many can’t wait and are bringing their mates along.”
The rally will involve music, a testimony, small group discussions and a talk by popular priest and musician, Fr Rob Galea. The rally caters for secondary school students and young adults.
Melissa said the rallies also helped to re-ignite the spirit and enthusiasm from the retreats which are held annually.
She said that she hoped others, who hadn’t come along to a Stronger event before, would attend the Echuca rally and join in the “faith-filled experience.”
The rally will be held at St Mary’s Parish Centre, which is situated at 224-230 Anstruther Street, Echuca.
