YOUTH from across the Sandhurst Diocese are set to converge on Benalla next week for the Stronger Rally.
Sandhurst Diocese Youth Ministry Worker, Jackson Saunders, said the organisers were hoping up to 120 young people would attend the Stronger Rally on Friday, May 18.
“We had more than 90 youth at the Echuca Rally in March and many more couldn’t make it due to some bad weather at the time, so we think we think 120 is a very realistic goal,” Jackson said.
“We’re hoping that every parish in the Diocese will have at least two young people attend, and we’d love to see some students from all Catholic secondary schools in the Diocese there.”
The Benalla Rally will have games, music, a testimony by a young person, and a talk by Fr Rob Galea. There will also be small group discussions.
Jackson said the Rally provided a fantastic way for youth to come together and celebrate their faith in Jesus Christ with one another.
“It’s a lot of fun and a faith enriching experience,” he said.
“Those who attended the Echuca Rally had a ball.”
The Rally, which caters for secondary school students and young adults, will be held from 6pm on Friday, May 18, at St Joseph’s Hall, 13 Wedge Street, Benalla. It’s expected that the Rally will finish by about 9pm.
A barbecue dinner will be offered from 6pm. Drinks will also be available for a gold coin donation.
The Rally also helps to re-ignite the spirit and enthusiasm from the retreat which is held annually.
